CEED is delighted to share that Sara Moran, a 2022-2025 Research Fellow, accepted a position as a Mixed Delivery and Attendance Research Scientist at the Early Learning Division of Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) in January 2025. Her work with DCYF focuses on mixed delivery and attendance research using Minnesota’s Early Childhood Longitudinal Data System (ECLDS) with the goal of ensuring responsive data use in mixed-delivery collaboration and building ECLDS capability.
At CEED, Sara focused on identifying barriers and improving policies for marginalized children and families through early childhood initiatives. She worked on two main projects: one in Multnomah County, Oregon, and another in a Head Start program in San Francisco, California. Both involved using mapping techniques to identify areas with childcare shortages and examining enrollment rates to inform policy. She also analyzed and visualized data from surveys, partners, and classroom observations to gain insights into the lives of families, children, and educators, aiming to support policy change.
Sara was an incredible colleague, also known for her positive energy and humor. As one colleague shared:
“Kids and families are better because of Sara’s genius!”
